The 2300 evenings & mornings deal with the period of time surrounding the reign of Antiochus Epiphanes who began to reign in 175 BC. When his Seleucid kingdom was secure Antiochus invaded Egypt and then Israel upon his return northbound in the 143rd year of the Selucid kingdom (169 BC). However the start of the 2300 evenings & mornings undoubtedly began at the start of the Hebrew calendar civil year beginning 170 BC. The two books of Maccabees gives varied accounts of how these events transpired. In these accounts we read how some of the sacred temple articles were initially stolen by Menelaus and this undoubtedly happened sometime in 170 BC. After Jason lost his High Priest position to Menalaus who usurped the position from Jason in 172 BC, he wanted to avenge his loss by deposing Menelaus and this appears to have happened shortly before Antiochus IV invaded Jerusalem in what the book of II Maccabees calls his second expedition into Egypt. Regardless of the exact date in 170 BC when the defilement began it is apparent that God considered the whole civil year defiled. The reason most people have never figured out the start date is because the Hebrew calendar in use at that time had three leap years during that period described as 2,300 evenings and mornings but Hillel's modern Hebrew calendar only has two leap years for that same period of time. If anyone tries to use Hillel's present day Hebrew calendar starting on Tishri 1 in 170 BC they will always find Hillel's calendar lands one month later in the month Tebet in 164 BC or if working backward from Kislev 25 in 164 BC then the 2,300 days will start one month prior to the true beginning of the Hebrew civil year.
In 170 BC, upon a false rumor of King Antiochus death then Jason gathered at least a thousand men and attacked the city (Jerusalem) but Menelaus was able to take refuge in the citadel. When King Antiochus learned of these things upon his return from Egypt he then proceeded toward Jerusalem in a great rage. Upon his arrival he stromed the city killing many and stole some of the sacred temple articles. Looking from a calendar perspective when 2300 evenings and mornings are added to Tishri 1 beginning the civil year in 170 BC they must be added to a Hebrew calendar that is properly intercalated with three leap years (during that 2,300 span of time) in order to reach fulfillment on the 25th day of Kislev when the new altar of sacrifice was rededicated in the 148th year of the Selucid era on Dec. 8th in 164 BC (I Maccabees 4:52). It was on Kislev 25 when the new altar of sacrifice was dedicated and the 2,300 days of defilement ended. However, it must be noted that Hillel's calendar is not capable of showing how the 2300 consecutive days unfolded because the set leap years used in his calendar do not align with the months as they unfolded historically. The Elijah calendar however has three leap years for that particular span and it shows exactly how those 2,300 days transpired.
Antiochus Epiphanes is correctly considered a prototype of the future Anti-Christ. His Seleucid empire was based around what we know as the nation of Syria. The apocrypha books of first and second Maccabees give the historical account of the events that unfolded during that era of time. In chapter 8 in the book of Daniel, Antiochus is described as a little horn which grew great in power. Verses 9 - 14 in Daniel chapter 8 describe his rise and transgressions against the Jewish nation and Jerusalem. Verse 9 states; Daniel 8:9-14 (KJV)
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (evenings and mornings); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
The gist of these verses tell us Jerusalem and the sanctuary was defiled for a period of exactly 2300 evenings and mornings (days). Those 2,300 days of defilement are not counted by God in His Luna
calenar of redemption. God essentially skips over this period of time as if it never existed. Therefore when the Luna calendar calculation is made on the new
Elijah calendar for the 483 Luna years of Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy then another period of 2,300 days must be added to those Luna calendar results in order to make up for the 2,300 uncounted days. For example, I believe Nehemiah departed Babylon on Nisan 24 (March 30/31 and went to Jerusalem to rebuild its fallen walls. Therefore the start date for the 483 Luna calendar years began on March 30/31 which happened to also be the 24th Luna day of the month Nisan in 445 BC. Adding exactly 483 Luna calendar years brings the calendar to November 11th in 24 AD (Kislev 24). However it must be remembered that God skips over 2,300 days begining at the Hebrew civil year in 170 BC. Therefore another 2,300 days must be added to the November 11th date. Adding another 2,300 days brings the calendar to February 28 in 31 AD (Nisan 21, the last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread). It was in the middle of that very week of Unleavened bread when Jesus resurrected from death on Nisan 16 (February 23) also showing himself alive to his disciples in the locked room as the 17th day of Nisan was about to begin. Jesus put an end to sacrifice and offering exactly as stated in verse 27 of Daniel seventy-weeks prophecy.
It is suggested to the reader that he/she read Daniel's 70-weeks prophecy for a more complete understanding of this prophecy page. The 2,300 evenings and mornings (days) not only effect Daniel's 70-weeks prophecy but that same 2,300 days also effects Ezekiel's seige enactment prophecy of Jerusalem (Ezekiel chapter 4). This is why Daniel was also told by Gabriel "Understand, Son of Man, that the vision refers to the time of the end".
My calculations put the fulfillment date of Ezekiel's seige enactment prophecy on Sept. 9th/10th in 2018. I believe it will be on this very day (The Feast of Trumpets), that God reveals himself to Israel in particular and the world.

will explain the many details about this prophecy. Ezekiel's prophecy only uses the Hebrew calendar for all calculations regarding it's fulfillment. It should also be remembered that there are three distinct periods of time that God does not count concerning the fulfillment of Ezekiel's prophecy. Just as there were three uncounted periods during the Old Covenant there are likewise three uncounted periods of time during the New Covenant (represented by the second temple). Those periods are 1) the 2,300 days beginning on Tishri 1 in 170 BC. 2) The 1,260 day ministry of Jesus (Revelation chapter 12) and 3) The 1,278 day ministry (a time, times, and half a time) of the Holy Spirit ending on the Feast of Trumpets in 34 AD. Therefore when Daniel's 70-weeks prophecy is properly interpreted it begins on the Feast of Trumpets in 457 BC and ends on the Feast of Trumpets in 34 AD.
